SIP Trunking from Advantia VoIP Systems

For businesses wanting to make full use of their installed IP-PBX or Asterisk server and communicate over IP to the traditional telephone network, a SIP trunk provided by Advantia VoIP Systems is the solution. Unlike in traditional telephony, where bundles of physical copper wires were once delivered from a service provider to a business, a SIP trunk allows a company to replace these traditional fixed lines with PSTN connectivity via a voice over Internet protocol.

Advantia offers Dedicated and Burstable SIP Trunking

SIP trunks provide industry normal local incoming and outgoing calling plus long distance service through-out North America and international markets. Each SIP trunk can carry one call.

Burstable SIP Trunks is the ideal solution for business that operate with an average concurrent call volume but wish to have the flexibility to handle more calls periodically. Burstable SIP Trunking enables you to "burst" to a higher call capacity without having to pay for dedicated lines that would otherwise, go mostly unused.

By combining dedicated and burstable SIP trunks, one can cost-effectively have majority of your VoIP traffic handled on dedicated trunks but still ensure the capacity to handle the occasion spike in traffic without your customers or staff encountering busy signals because no more lines are available.

A single account may include both dedicated and burstable trunks but must have at least one dedicated trunk. When a call is handled (either incoming or outgoing) it is assigned to the first available dedicated trunk. Only if all dedicated trunks are in use, each additional call will the call be assigned to a burstable trunk. Note however, once a call has been assigned to a burstable trunk, it continues to be billed as a burstable call even if a dedicated trunk becomes available.

¹ Number portablity not available in all locations.
² International dialling plans provided separately.
