Linux is the core operating system used in the IP-PBX telephone systems that I have deployed since 2003. In that time, the overwhelming majority of those IP-PBX telephone systems have been powered by RedHat Enterprise Linux or a distribution based on the Redhat operating system. A Redhat based system for our customers offers a migration path if they decide to purchase support directly from Redhat or receive additional hardware support if their IP-PBX servers were purchase from a vendor such as Dell Computers.
When a customer asks, we listen. This month marks the first month that Advantia VoIP Systems is officially supporting the Linux distribution, Debian.
We believe that in providing support for Debian and Redhat in our IP-PBX platforms, our customers can enjoy another degree of flexibility that the open-source model affords us all.
